Position: Instructional Technologist
Position Status: Full‑Time Exempt
Work Hours: 8 am to 5 pm, may include some evening hours and planned Saturdays
Reports to: Design Team Manager
Summary: The Instructional Technologist is responsible for the development of new course builds and redesign of existing courses, working collaboratively to meet rigor standards, student‑learning outcomes, and usability standards. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, adaptable environment and seeks continuous skill growth.
Responsibilities- Lead project development for new course builds and manage the Master Course Listing, including redesigns and revisions.
- Collaborate with discipline‑specific SMEs to develop course content, outline, assessments, activities, and multimedia.
- Apply best practices in online higher education and instructional design.
- Mentor and coach design team associates.
- Ensure quality standards during design, development, and revision of all courses.
- Build, evaluate, and review content for academic rigor and authentic assessment.
- Analyze software usability and recommend instructional solutions.
- Commit to professional development, student success, and the Online Education culture.
- Manage time, resources, and project deadlines effectively.
- Make decisions and take ownership to keep projects on track.
- Determine learner needs and evaluate outcomes to meet best practices.
- Act with urgency and ownership.
- Integrate and champion new technology.
- Collaborate, lead teams, and drive results.
- Communicate exceptionally well in writing and orally.
- Troubleshoot, critically evaluate, and make educational design decisions.
- Apply knowledge of Bloom’s Taxonomy, pedagogy, grading rubrics, ADDIE model, and Quality Matters Rubrics.
- Forge supportive partnerships across departments.
- Master’s degree in Distance Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology/Instructional Technology, Education or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience in course creation, design, and teaching preferably in online higher education.
- Preferred experience with Learning Management Systems.
- Requires standing or sitting, occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, and use of computer technology.
- Requires hearing and communicating verbally and over the phone.
$63,500 per year.

Compensation information is a good‑faith estimate of the base pay. Total compensation package details will be provided during the interview process.
