Duties & Responsibilities
  • Help students to become better independent learners by:
    • Assisting students in the understanding of course material
    • Identifying strengths and areas of improvement regarding the content of the coursework and study habits
    • Answering student questions and guiding them through class assignments
    • Conducting review sessions before exams
  • Completion of CRLA-certified tutoring training
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and hours worked
  • Other duties as assigned by the Tutor Coordinator
Qualifications
  • Proof of understanding of course material, evidenced by a minimum grade of B in the course (or equivalent coursework) for which you will tutor
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrate good study skills and work habits
  • Exhibit a service-oriented attitude by focusing on helping students succeed in their courses
  • Possess awareness & understanding of varying identities and experiences
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
