As a Plumbing Instructor (Part Time, Monday to Friday 6–10 PM) you will guide students toward entry in the trade. Your primary responsibility is to instruct in both theory and hands‑on curriculum within a classroom environment, explaining and demonstrating tasks, emphasizing safety at every step, and reviewing job safety analyses with each student. You also organize supplemental training, conduct refresher sessions, and ensure tools and equipment are in optimal condition for performance and safety.
In your supervisory role you assign tasks and schedules, enforce curriculum guidelines and safety standards, maintain attendance records, grade entries per state and accrediting standards, and uphold established rules and conduct expectations.
- High School Diploma
- Thorough understanding of safe operation of manually operated and power‑related tools, plus proper use of safety equipment/apparel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Classroom
- 7+ years of experience in the plumbing trade (Teaching: 1 year preferred, Plumbing: 7 years required)
- Ability to teach and work with a diverse student population with varying skills and abilities
- Effective communication of complex ideas and concepts to students
- Ability to objectively evaluate and grade student performance against established standards as prescribed by Apex and accrediting entities
- Ability to commute to Queens, NY
- 4‑hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift (6–10 PM)
- In person, Queens, NY
$35.00 – $38.00 per hour
