Job Summary

Spalding University's School of Liberal Arts invites applications for adjunct professors to teach up to 3 introductory undergraduate classes in sociology and/or anthropology during the 2026-27 academic year. Contracts may be renewed for additional terms based on departmental needs, funding ability, and candidate performance. A minimum of a master's degree in sociology or anthropology is required.

Responsibilities

• Teaching formats:
  • 75 minute in-person daytime classes Mondays through Thursdays for 8 weeks
  • 2.5 hour in-person evening classes once per week, plus 2.5 hours of online instruction per week, for 8 weeks
  • Online courses with 40 hours of instruction spread over 8 weeks

Skills and Educational Requirements

• M.A., M.S., or Ph. D degree in sociology or anthropology
• Teachingириш experience in higher education is preferred

Interrelations

• Regular or daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
Must have an appreciation and respect for diverse populations.
