Administrator of Online Education, CCPA Online Programs

Position . Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience). Full-time. Closes:

Binghamton University is a premier public R1 research institution in the State University of New York (SUNY) system that offers more than 130 widely interdisciplinary educational programs and fosters research excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support and standardized onboarding materials to new and continuing online instructors each semester.
  • Offer ongoing mentorship and consultation to faculty on instructional design principles, inclusive pedagogy, and effective online teaching strategies.
  • Coordinate course shell preparation, copying, and enrollments each semester to ensure consistency and quality across sections.
  • Conduct regular course audits to verify alignment with accreditation standards, learning outcomes, and Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) requirements.
  • Support the preparation of accreditation reports, curriculum reviews, and departmental quality assurance documentation.
  • Collaborate with program directors, the Center for Learning and Teaching, and university partners to maintain and improve the quality of online offerings.
  • Develop and maintain instructor sandboxes, resource repositories, and communications (e.g., newsletters, surveys) to support ongoing faculty development.
  • Track and analyze enrollment, performance, and student engagement data to inform program decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility (WCAG, Section 508) and universal design principles across all online courses.
  • Contribute to the development of new courses and electives and assist with the renewal of existing courses to maintain relevance and rigor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience designing online or hybrid courses in higher education
  • Knowledge of learning theories, pedagogy, and instructional design models
  • Demonstrated experience working with faculty or subject matter experts
  • Proficiency with LMS platform, including Bright Space
  • Experience with multimedia and content development tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and project management skills
Preferred
  • Experience with quality assurance frameworks (e.g., Quality Matters, OSCQR)
  • Working knowledge of accessibility and universal design principles
  • Experience in faculty development or training
