Summary / Objective

The Uplift Advisor is the primary support point for a caseload of up to 60 Uplift students, managing their entire educational journey, from welcoming them to Uplift to daily support of the students’ needs. This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and data-driven professional who can implement Uplift's tiered support model. The Advisor is responsible for building strong relationships, monitoring student progress, executing timely interventions, and meticulously tracking all student data in Pulse and Skyward to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed.

This role is an hourly 10-month position, unpaid over the summer months.

Essential Functions
  • Full-Cycle Student Case Management
    • Student Onboarding:
      Lead the onboarding/welcoming process for all new students on your caseload, ensuring they are successfully welcomed, oriented, and prepared for their first term.
    • Advising & Retention:
      Serve as the primary case manager and relationship-holder for a caseload of up to 60 active students, with the core goal of retaining them through Graduation.
    • Student Off-boarding:
      Attempt “win-back” and concern rectification process for students, ensuring all data is captured and appropriate next steps are communicated.
    • Plan and lead weekly advisory meetings with the advisory caseload.
  • MTSS Tiered Support Implementation:
    Triage your caseload according to Uplift's Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support models, adjusting the intensity and frequency of support based on student needs.
  • 1:1 Advising Sessions:
    Conduct regular (bi-weekly) 1:1 advising sessions with all students to build relationships, review goals, and provide holistic support.
  • Proactive Check-Ins:
    Execute weekly student check-ins (as defined by Tier level) using documentation and feedback to proactively identify barriers and progress.
  • Goal Setting:
    Collaboratively develop and manage long-term academic and personal goals with students, tracking progress toward those goals in Strive.
  • Educational Development Plans:
    Complete EDPs with all assigned advisory students.
  • Data-Driven Intervention & Engagement Monitoring
    • Risk Flag Management:
      Monitor and respond to all student "Risk Flags" (e.g., Personal/Life Barrier, Academic Concern) within the 24-48 hour SOP timeline, logging all interventions and communications in Pulse.
    • Attendance Tracking:
      Meticulously track student attendance, communicate all attendance concerns in a timely manner as outlined by Standard Operating Procedures, and execute the 3, 5, 7, 10 day intervention protocols.
    • Academic Progress Monitoring:
      Conduct bi-weekly academic check-ins to review grades and progress. Connect students who have academic "Risk Flags" or low progress with the Engagement staff for intensive support, as needed.
    • Student Success Plans:
      For Tier 3 students, collaborate with the Engagement staff and Principal to develop, implement, and manage formal Student Success Plans.
  • Data Integrity & Administrative Excellence
    • System Proficiency:
      Maintain 100% data integrity and real-time logging of all student interactions, notes, and interventions in Pulse.
    • Performance Metrics:
      Meet or exceed all key performance indicators (KPIs) related to student retention, 1:1 session completion, check-in completion rates, and outreach response times, as defined by the Principal.
    • Collaboration:

      Act as a key member of your advisory team, attending all team meetings, shadowing and reverse-shadowing peers, and collaborating with the Student Support Network team and staff.
  • Facilitate NWEA assessment cycles for the caseload of students, including holding testing sessions, monitoring for fidelity, uploading score reports in Skyward, and setting/monitoring goals.
  • Facilitate twice-annual Parent-Teacher Conferences in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
