Regional Admissions Counselor – Admissions and New Student Programs

Location: St. Louis, MO (metro area; remote work from residence).
Salary: Depends on qualifications.

We are seeking a professional to develop recruitment strategies and execute outreach in the greater St. Louis region. The Counselor will reside in the metro area and work remotely to assist prospective students with college planning, admissions, and enrollment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Guide new students through college visit, application and enrollment steps.
  • Develop relationships with prospective students, family members, high school counselors, community‑based organizations, and other external constituents.
  • Collaborate with school districts to deliver early awareness, financial aid, and college planning presentations.
  • Coordinate webinars and personalized video outreach.
  • Host community‑based events.
  • Travel regularly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Visit schools to meet with prospective students and school counselors.
  • Perform public speaking.
  • Contact prospective students weekly by telephone, email, text and in‑person.
  • Engage in virtual and in‑person recruitment activities.
  • Maintain accurate student records in the University’s CRM and student information systems.
  • Attend Alumni events.
  • Participate in trainings and special events on campus in Cape Girardeau.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • One or more years of professional work experience.
  • Reside in the metro St. Louis area and work from residence.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with internal and external University constituents.
  • Strong evidence of computer skills, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to both large and small groups.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively with or without accommodations and work alternate work schedules, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of publications and display materials with or without accommodations.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Demonstrates innovative approaches in problem‑solving.
  • Exercises sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service.
