Job SummaryThe Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (housed within the School of Pharmacy) seeks affiliates who can teach both lectures and laboratory classes in a variety of drug development areas.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Teach from a wide variety of courses in the Department of Pharmaceutical Science depending on needs of the Department and qualifications of applicant.
- Prepare and teach lectures and/or laboratories, keep complete and accurate grade records, adequately evaluate student performance, and appropriately use class time.
- Affiliate faculty are part‑time employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program.
- All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Duty includes meeting assigned classes consistent with University, College, and Department policies; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate, with Department course coordination policies; and being available, either face‑to‑face or electronically, to students in assigned classes to provide additional academic support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.
- PhD, Pharm
D, MD or RN with 0‑5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry. - MS with at least 5‑10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- BS with at least 10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Relevant teaching experience.

Work SchedulePer course contract/remote/hybrid.
BenefitsEligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
Pay Rate$4,200 per course contract.
