Recognizing Increased Skills in Education (RISE) is a grant‑funded Ameri Corps program requiring a one‑year commitment from members to serve between August soutien 2025 and July 31, 2026. As the RISE Program Specialist, you will facilitate a skill‑based curriculum for adjudicated youth ages 12‑18, focusing on educational skill development. The curriculum is delivered in group settings in person or virtually, and you may
219 also provide individual support tailored to a youth’s needs. Additional support is provided for up to six months after the curriculum is complete. You will:
- Teach educational skills such as goal setting, motivation, organization, study skills, and test‑taking strategies using a pre‑written curriculum.
- Hold in‑person groups at schools, probation offices, or other community sites.
- ்வேघात collect and submit data on youth attendance for grant performance measures.
- Participate in Ameri Corps National Service events, Nebraska Probation trainings, and other professional development opportunities.
- Travel to various locations across District #1 as needed.
This position covers all of District #1 and may require travel to multiple sites.
Requirements / Qualifications- Minimum qualifications: 48 hours of college coursework in Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, Education, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.

- Other: Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident; must submit to a criminal background check that includes FBI fingerprinting and state and national criminal records. Enrollment contingent on the results of a National Service Criminal History Check.
Read and write proficiently in English. Communicate effectively in both verbal and written correspondence with fellow Ameri Corps members, state probation staff, school officials, and community stakeholders. Possess basic computer skills, keep accurate records, and serve up to 20 hours per week with strong work ethic and volunteerism. influx.
BenefitsAmeri Corps members are not considered state employees and will not receive state benefits. Eligible benefits include:
- Living stipend: Monthly stipend of $1,470 for part‑time members.
- Segal Education Award: $3,697.50 upon successful completion of the service term.
- Student loan forbearance and interest payment: Eligible members may have qualified student loans postponed during service; upon completion, the National Service Trust will pay accrued interest.
