The Horn research group is seeking applications for a postdoctoral associate (25% time) under the direction of Professor Stacey Horn. The position is ideal for a diversity scientist interested in research on bias-motivated harassment and sexual and gender identity-based (SOGI) prejudice. The Horn research group focuses on mixed-methods studies on attitudes related to SOGI and bias-based bullying in schools. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with colleagues, engage in the recruitment and interviewing of participants, conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses, and provide leadership for the research group by mentoring and supervising undergraduate and graduate students.

Job Responsibilities- Function 1 (40%): Project lead for "Teachers' attitudes regarding harmful interactions with students in school". Qualitative research project. Project lead responsible for all aspects of the project, including participant recruitment, data collection, coding, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Also responsible for providing leadership and supervision for other researchers on the project.
- Function 2 (40%): Data Analysis and manuscript preparation for ongoing projects.
- Function 3 (20%): Project management for Dr. Horn's research group and various research projects.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to advocating for an inclusive environment for all backgrounds and identities.
- Ph.D. in Human Development, Family Science, Educational Psychology or related field.
- Qualitative and quantitative research experience.
- Knowledge of the academic literature related to bias-based bullying, sexual orientation and gender identity, and safe schools policies and practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated experience preparing manuscripts for publication.
- Demonstrated experience supervising others such as undergraduate RA's.
