Location: 16 DSST schools across Denver and Aurora

Salary: $67,500-$81,100 for up to 10 years of aligned experience. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver.

Status: Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position (Denver, CO)

About

The Role

DSST’s Network Evaluation Specialists are experienced educators who ensure students with disabilities receive high-quality, legally defensible special education evaluations across our network. These specialists play a key leadership role in delivering comprehensive evaluations, collaborating closely with school-based teams, and helping ensure every student is known, valued, and challenged to reach their most ambitious post‑secondary path. This role is part of our Home Office Special Education Team and will serve both middle and high school students, including those in mild/moderate and center‑based programming.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Special Education Case Management (80%)
    • Conduct academic assessments and write holistic, strengths‑based evaluation reports
    • Support multiple evaluations across various DSST schools each week
    • Work 4–5 days/week in schools across Denver and Aurora
    • Receive ongoing coaching and support from DSST’s Home Office SpEd team
  • Communication and Collaboration (20%)
    • Partner with school Special Education teams and leaders on evaluation timelines, logistics, and follow‑up
    • Communicate with general educators, families, and outside providers as needed
    • Maintain regular collaboration with the Home Office SpEd Team
Minimum Qualifications
  • Special Education Experience
    • 6+ years as a School Psychologist, School Social Worker, or Special Education Teacher (middle/high school)
    • Significant experience with administering standardized assessments, root cause analysis, and writing comprehensive evaluation reports
  • Special Education Leadership Experience
    • 2+ Years experience in a teacher leader role (i.e. SpEd Coordinator, House/Department Lead)
    • Extensive experience administering a variety of standardized assessments, conducting root cause analysis and writing holistic, comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Education & Licensure
    • Bachelor’s Degree required from accredited university and advanced degree for School Social Work or School Psychologist Candidates.
    • Hold a valid Colorado special education or special service provider endorsement. You can read more about obtaining a Colorado Special Education Endorsement here. We recommend reaching out to CDE directly for information on transferring your out of state credentials.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Because of the unique nature of this role, we are seeking an experienced, certified Special Education Teacher or licensed School Social Worker or School Psychologist who is flexible and has strong skills in communicating and building relationships with adults and students.
  • Strong candidates for the Network Evaluation Specialist role should have a demonstrated ability to respond flexibly to a changing work environment, to build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students.
