What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Develop and deliver distance education and onsite lab immersive learning experiences for students
  • Create and assess student performance using both traditional and nontraditional methods
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation and grades
  • Provide timely academic performance feedback to students and review course evaluations
  • Engage in service activities and leadership roles within the department and institution
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, academic doctorate in Physical Therapy, or related field
  • Active Physical Therapy license or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee
  • Minimum of three years of full‑time post‑licensure clinical practice
  • Prior teaching experience in a CAPTE accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching

  • Knowledge of CAPTE accreditation standards
  • Evidence of an active research and scholarly agenda
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to improving access for underrepresented students
  • Strong organizational and technology skills, adaptable to changing priorities
