High School Math Teacher

High School Math Teacher, 9–12, State‑certified educator delivering online course content.

Essential Functions:

• Takes ownership of student academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations.
• Prepares students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
• Conducts live synchronous teaching – minimum 15 hours per week.
• Supports asynchronous objectives, composing emails, planning course objectives, preparing learning plans, using data to determine student needs.
• Collaborates with others regarding instruction, resources, interventions, and data related to student needs and professional development.
• Submits grades, maintains gradebook, makes placement and promotion decisions, generates reports.

Relationship Building:

• Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families, communicates regularly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Supports learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues in a virtual classroom environment.
• Responds to students, parents, and colleagues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and six (6) months of student teaching experience.
• Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in subject area under No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
• Pedagogical knowledge of content, ability to apply critical thinking.
• Knowledge of state content standards, ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
• Ability to work independently, 40+ hours per week, maintain professional home office, travel as required.
• Access to reliable high‑speed internet, proficient in Microsoft Office, rapid learning of new technologies.
