Instructional Aide 3 (Accessibility Resources)
Provides note taking services and classroom assistance to assigned students with disabilities attending LBCC classes, located in the Accessibility Resources division.
Job SummaryAs an Instructional Aide, you will take accurate and comprehensive notes using a laptop computer and organize them for student use. You will assist the student in the classroom, including manipulation of materials and description of visual aids, and provide physical and verbal support when the disability inhibits the student’s direct performance of classroom assignments.
Responsibilities- Take and organize lecture notes for students with disabilities.
- Assist students with classroom logistics and material manipulation.
- Identify and communicate homework assignments and materials.
- Support students’ self‑esteem and self‑advocacy skills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Successful note‑taking experience.
- Strong reading, writing, and note‑taking skills.
- Operational knowledge of general office equipment, including laptops.
- Strong customer‑relations skills.
- Computer literacy and word‑processing proficiency.
- Typing rapidly and accurately preferred.
- Ability to comprehend and paraphrase lectures across class settings.
- Ability to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures and backgrounds.
- Arm, hand, and finger dexterity to operate keyboard and other office equipment.
- Visual acuity for reading words and numbers; sufficient hearing and speaking ability.
- Work is performed indoors with minimal exposure to health hazards.
- Handles primarily computer‑based note taking and student assistance.
- Step 1 of the salary schedule; full‑time steps available based on experience.
- Monthly pay on the last day of the month.
- Pay incentive for proficiency in conversational Spanish under Administrative Rule 6025‑06.
- Direct deposit required; no visa sponsorship provided.
- Background checks required; includes criminal background, sex offender registry, and other relevant screenings.
- Residence in Oregon required; remote work not available for out‑of‑state applicants.
