The College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor to teach in the Family Nurse Practitioner track, with an appointment as the track director.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • 50% – Teaching and Advising Students in the FNP track (includes advising independent study projects). Potential courses to be taught include:
    • NURS 544 Pharmacotherapeutics for Primary Care
    • NURS 532 Family Nursing
    • NURS 534 Management of Health Conditions I
    • NURS 540 Management of Health Conditions II
    • NURS 559 Maternal & Child Health Conditions I
    • NURS 597 Advanced Clinical Practicum
    • NURS 609 DNP Project Teams
    • NURS 997 Independent Study
  • 40% – Serve as Track Director for the Family Nurse Practitioner Track
    • Provide leadership for curriculum development, implementation & evaluation of the FNP track
    • Promote development of the FNP program at the local, state and national level
    • Maintain all pertinent records for the FNP program as required
    • Serve as program track representative at various meetings
    • Report applicable measures as part of the college assessment plan
    • Participate in inter‑professional collaboration as relevant
    • Complete program grant applications to support the track as applicable
    • Assist in the recruitment of students to the track
    • Communicate with prospective FNP students
    • Make recommendations to the graduate school on decisions regarding admission to the track
    • Serve as academic advisor and develop plans of study for students in the track
    • Guide and monitor program progression of FNP students
    • Work in collaboration with clinical placement team to secure clinical practicum sites for FNP students
    • Assist with recruitment, mentoring and evaluations for faculty teaching in the FNP track
    • Provide guidance to course faculty to resolve student issues
  • 10% – Service to the University, College and/or Department. Specific duties will be coordinated with the department chair.

  • Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner
