Assistive Technology Trainer

Are you passionate about accessibility? We’re hiring an Assistive Technology Trainer to provide life‑changing hardware and software training for our diverse community of students and workplace clients with disabilities. This includes the visually and hearing impaired, and individuals with dyslexia, AD(H)
D, autism, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and dyspraxia. The role will be a combination of remote and onsite training.

• Establish each individual's specific requirements and create a bespoke training plan.
• Adapt teaching styles to meet the unique needs of each individual.
• Provide training on a range of assistive technology so each individual can use it according to their requirements.
• Deliver training in line with our guidelines and code of conduct to ensure training is effective.
• Update student files to support their unique training plan; manage training paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Attend relevant training to develop existing skills while adding to your continual professional development.
• Punctuality with a flexible approach to working hours is required.

• Proven experience in teaching or training assistive technologies or a similar role.
• Proven experience of working with disabled people or people with specific learning differences.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and knowledge of MS Office and office software.
• Experience of a logical approach to problem‑solving and paying close attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new assistive software and hardware as required.

• Experience of supporting students in further or higher education with disabilities.

• A full in‑depth training program for the first 4 weeks to equip you with all the skills you need.
• Ongoing CPD provided.
• Hybrid working with in‑person support and working from home supporting students online.
