Are you passionate about digital communication and community engagement?

Do you want to help improve how local people interact with their council and influence decisions that affect their lives?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Engagement Support Officer to join the Consultation Team at the London Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth, supporting a busy and dynamic digital engagement function.

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils form the largest local authority staff group in London and are recruiting for this role on an initial one-year contract (with the possibility of further extension).

If you have experience in digital communications, content creation, and data analysis - or are keen to develop these skills - this could be the role for you.

About The Team

The team works across both councils, delivering public consultation and engagement projects, analysing feedback, and using data to provide insight to officers and councillors. This work is vital to help the councils understand what matters most to our communities and make informed decisions about services.

You’ll work with a wide range of people across the organisation and the variety of projects means no two days are ever the same.

The Role

As a Digital Engagement Support Officer, you’ll help manage the councils’ online engagement platforms, build and maintain public-facing sites, and create engaging digital content. You’ll also support data collection and analysis, contributing to reports that inform decision-making and improve services.

You’ll be based in the corporate Consultation team and work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including Communications and Community Engagement teams, to increase participation and ensure our digital engagement is inclusive, accessible, and impactful.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, on a hybrid working basis. Our offices are based in Twickenham and Wandsworth.

  • Support internal communications and stakeholder relationships

  • Assist with data collection and organisation
  • Help prepare reports and visual summaries
  • Contribute to ‘You Said, We Did’ reports
  • Monitor engagement metrics and identify areas for improvement
