The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Assistant Director of Application Management Processing position. The minimum starting salary for this position is $59,332. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
ResponsibilitiesThis is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.
This position is responsible for providing leadership and supervision related to components of the undergraduate admissions application process. The Assistant Director will work to identify new efficiencies that directly impact service to students. The position will ensure up to date documentation of policies and procedures related to the application management process. Additionally, CRM data reporting, effective protocols will be assessed in collaboration with the Associate Director of Application Management and Integrated Systems.
This position assists with managing application review/decisions and holistic review of entering first‑year, transfer, re‑admit, dual enrollment, visiting and non‑degree applicants.
Required
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree with 3+ years of experience working in Enrollment Management at a large university, or
- Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year of experience working in Enrollment Management at a large university. Ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities at one time. Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment, excellent oral, written and interpersonal problem‑solving skills.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of HTML, SQL, XML, or other similar formats.
- Advanced skills in a variety of computer applications and reporting tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to end users, business stakeholders and management both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks to meet deadlines and follow through on assignments with minimal direction, often under pressure.
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and tact with all levels of constituents.
- Skills of working independently in a changing environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability creating reports (MS Access and Excel).
- Ability to work with large data sets, verifying and checking data thoroughly for accuracy and completeness, and importing and exporting files between software programs.
- Knowledge of Banner.
- Knowledge of recruitment/enrollment process.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree with proven success in evaluation and improvement in Undergraduate Admissions operational efficiencies and automation of routines.
