Please know the Economics Senior Graduate Programs Coordinator position modality is fundamentally on-campus (not remote). We anticipate a regular one-day per week remote work-schedule being feasible, if desired, most weeks after completing critical trainings.

The Department of Economics is an inclusive, ambitious, innovative and large department within the Social Sciences Division. The department offers one Ph.D. program and one professional master’s degree program, and multiple master’s pathways for undergraduate and international students, in addition to multiple undergraduate degrees. Graduate and undergraduate students come from a diverse background with many from international locations and California. Our graduate students train in applied microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, and behavioral and experimental economics, and they pursue careers predominantly in academia, finance, hi-tech, fintech, central banking, data science and governmental policy.
The senior graduate programs coordinator will use outstanding organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills to work with staff and faculty colleagues and 50-80 students in our two programs overseeing financial aid, budgeting, visa support, student employment, awards and program management and mentoring and supervision of the graduate programs coordinator.

Job SummaryApplying advanced, specialized student services expertise and a high degree of autonomy, the graduate programs coordinator works under the general direction of the department manager to manage independently the department s Ph.D. and professional M.S. graduate programs. The incumbent exercises programmatic responsibility and accountability for a complex student affairs function, involving management of multiple budgets and incoming fund sources; coordinating all graduate programmatic activities and support services;
mentoring, training and supervising the department s graduate adviser; advising department staff, faculty and students on a variety of complex student issues, policies, practices…
