What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Tutor students using the Socratic method and develop critical thinking skills
- Conduct online tutoring sessions via Upswing's virtual classroom, utilizing video, audio, chatbox, and whiteboard features
- Provide subject matter expertise in American Sign Language
- Assist students in achieving their educational goals and overcoming obstacles
- Maintain a minimum of 2-5 hours of tutoring per week during the fall and spring semesters

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Familiarity with tutoring via the Socratic method
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, distraction-free environment for tutoring sessions
- Undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or professional experience in American Sign Language
- Excellent grades in undergraduate or graduate school
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Background in teaching methodology, instruction, or college-level tutoring
- Experience tutoring in a math or learning lab, or in a writing center
- Responsive to session requests
