Approaching its 18th year, the PSU BSW Program is the only CSWE accredited undergraduate social work degree offered in a public institution of higher education in Oregon. PSU’s BSW Program emphasizes critical thinking, innovative pedagogy, anti-oppressive, equity-aligned, and transformative social work practice. Instructors who demonstrate an interest in and ability to realize the mission, values, and vision of the SSW and the BSW program are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to racial equity, healing-centered liberation and abolitionary practices, decolonizing and indigenizing, transformative and restorative justice, and critical, anti-oppressive, and social justice-oriented frameworks.

This position is open to instructors interested in teaching in Portland, Oregon, and/or in our online (asynchronous) program. Our greatest need is a more robust pool of adjuncts teaching in-person, on campus in Portland. Each academic year, there is a need to hire adjunct faculty to teach.

M.S. or M.A. in Social Work (or closely related field) and two years post-degree practice experience. Seminar and Liaison positions require: two or more years in combination of the following: field liaison; BSW/MSW field instructor; staff supervisor; or social work educator, trainer or community member in service to social work higher education.

Previous undergraduate teaching experience.
