What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Lead the full eligibility process, including intake, evaluation, and IEP development
  • Chair eligibility meetings and guide teams through RTI (Response to Intervention) procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation for timelines, eligibility determinations, and IEPs
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, ADA, and state mandates, conducting regular audits
  • Coordinate among teachers, administrators, specialists, parents, and external agencies to support student needs
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Must possess a Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Typically 2–5+ years of experience in special education teaching or coordination
  • Experience chairing eligibility/IEP meetings preferred
  • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during work hours

  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations regarding special education
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with educators, families, and service providers
  • Experience in conducting audits of records and procedures
  • Knowledge of data-driven instructional models and assessment practices
