The Position
THIS POSITION IS SPANISH BILINGUAL REQUIRED. The position is now accepting applications for Home Visiting Specialist – Early Head Start – Restricted (Spanish Bilingual Required).
Under the direct supervision of Supervisor – Home-Based Program – Early Head Start/Restricted, the Home Visiting Specialist – Early Head Start – Restricted is responsible for providing intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of participating children. The Home Visiting Specialist – Early Head Start – Restricted promotes positive parent-child interactions and provides resources to parents in a home-based setting to support parents in their roles.
The Home Visiting Specialist – Early Head Start
- Restricted is also responsible for coordinating and leading socialization sessions with groups of children and their families.
This position is full-time and has a work year of 12 months, 261 days, 8 hours per day. It is a federally funded position that is subject to annual approval and renewal.
Education and Experience- Education:
AA/AS degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Services, Social Services or related field. - Experience:
One year of experience working with children, families, community groups and public agencies, providing safety, child or mental health consultation. Experience providing home visitation services for parents, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and serving families with disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to complete three units of Infant/Toddler education within one year after hire.
- Valid California driver’s license.

Examination Procedures- Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.
- Following the final filing date, all candidates will be evaluated.
- Most qualified candidates will be invited to a written exam, tentatively scheduled for January 7, 2026.
- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to an oral examination with subject matter experts, schedule TBD.
- Based on final scores, a ranked candidate list will be established.
- Selected candidates may be invited to a second interview with hiring authorities, schedule TBD.
- Second interviews may be held in-person.
- Candidates will be notified by email to participate in each step.
