The Executive Director, Multi‑State Programs, leads the strategic growth and advancement of AVID across an assigned area team. The role drives measurable impact by setting clear goals, influencing key policies, and building strategic partnerships while supervising Implementation Strategists.

- Develop and implement strategic plans, budgets, and resource allocations to meet departmental and mission goals.
- Supervise and coach Implementation Strategists, conducting bi‑weekly 1:1 check‑ins and ensuring timely, accurate recording of interactions.
- Monitor implementation data to drive continuous improvement efforts within area teams.
- Participate in executive‑level professional learning communities, share insights, and contribute to national impact strategies.
- Engage at the state level as a strategic representative, influencing education agendas.
- Position AVID as a relevant partner by aligning organizational goals with state education initiatives and funding priorities.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to integrate AVID within district‑ and state‑level systems.
- Build and influence high‑level state and education networks through advocacy and partnership development.
- Monitor all AVID impact measures using data to inform implementation strategies and team support.
- Ensure collaborative implementation across the Implementation Strategists network.
- AVID practitioner with deep understanding of quality implementation at scale.
- Leader who balances strategic vision with disciplined execution and follow‑through.
- Connector experienced in building state‑level education partnerships and aligning district needs with state priorities.
- Systems thinker who implements AVID as a district strategic lever, not just a program.

- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; experience as a principal, central office role, or comparable system‑level leadership.
- Comfortable with remote work and frequent travel within the Southern Coastal Area (about 50%).
- Must be located in the Southern Coastal Area (NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, LA) or willing to relocate.
- Superintendent, assistant superintendent, or other system‑level leadership experience.
- Experience with nonprofit or educational institutions preparing students for success in high school, college, and career.
- Experience leading large teams or organizations within the education industry.
