Campus Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI)

Grade Level: Middle School and High School

Location:

TBD (Denver, CO)

Salary: $72,000-$87,000 based on experience, plus relocation stipend for those >75 miles from Denver.

Status:
Full‑time, year‑round, benefits eligible, exempt, in‑person position.

June 2026.

Key

Roles & Responsibilities Leadership
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency about achievement for all students and preparing every student for post‑secondary success.
  • Pursue solutions with tenacity that maximize student achievement; do whatever it takes to get the work done right.
  • Model professional maturity; maintain emotional constancy in stressful situations and motivate others positively.
  • Coach and develop staff members to achieve excellent academic outcomes for students.
  • Lead consistent, high‑quality coaching in alignment with DSST’s coaching vision.
Curriculum
  • Work with teachers to plan year‑long courses using DSST’s pacing calendars, unit plans, and daily lesson materials aligned with college readiness standards.
  • Develop teachers to effectively implement DSST curriculum.
  • Facilitate Lesson Internalization Coaching Meetings to enhance instructional practice.
Instruction
  • Observe at least weekly and evaluate classroom practice using DSST’s Essentials for Effective Teaching Rubric.
  • Use DSST’s centralized coaching tools to track all coaching meetings, observations, and action steps.
  • Ensure course content prepares students for high school college‑preparatory programs.
  • Facilitate Practice Clinics & Real‑Time Coaching to develop teacher instructional practice urgently.
Assessment
  • Create, maintain, and update whole‑school, grade‑level, and teacher‑level academic and assessment records.
  • Lead the school’s assessment program, including testing schedules, staff training, and compliance with district and state requirements.
Data
  • Develop teachers in data analysis and action planning based on assessment data.
  • Monitor overall school data and progress toward goals.
  • Manage school and staff decisions derived from data analysis.
Professional Learning
  • Develop and execute the Professional Learning vision for the school.
  • Lead objective‑aligned, engaging professional development grounded in adult learning theory.
  • Identify and arrange staff development opportunities related to core instructional practices, standards‑based assessments, and content areas.
  • Manage staff meetings and Professional Learning Days.
Additional Duties
  • Build relationships with teachers and admin team to positively impact culture and results.
  • Co‑manage department chairs for effective outcomes.
  • Recruit and hire school faculty.
  • Recruit new students and engage prospective families to attract learners.
  • Collaborate with DSST Home Office to create network‑wide standards, curriculum, and assessment documents.
  • Develop network‑wide teacher professional development, including school‑specific materials.
  • Serve as a core member of the Instructional Leadership Team.
  • Participate in DSST’s Instructional Leadership Development program.
  • Teach courses and act as a student advisor as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • At least 3 years 6th‑12th grade teaching experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, manage, and lead adults to successful outcomes.
  • Unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, reach ambitious post‑secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives.
  • Desire to grow personally and professionally as an anti‑racist educator.
  • Self‑awareness, regular reflection, and continuous improvement focus.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students.
