About YouAs a School Superintendent Consultant, you will work with the Division Director for TASB Executive Search Services (ESS) to conduct superintendent and other key administrator searches in Texas school districts. This is a Texas-based remote position requiring the selected candidate to live within the state.
A Typical Day- Write responsive RFPs to be submitted to districts for search services.
- Collaborate with TASB Field Service staff to assist in conducting searches and maintain necessary materials.
- Review applicants’ materials and collect additional information.
- Work with boards or districts to promote and conduct searches for a new superintendent/CEO or key administrative positions.
- Provide assistance to applicants to prepare them for interviewing.
- Attend and present at local, regional, statewide, and out-of-state conferences.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree.
- Prior experience in a Texas school district central office, preferably as a superintendent.
- Experience working with school boards.
- Human resource office or recruiting experience.
- Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of boards and superintendents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency with office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Practical knowledge of the Texas Open Meeting Act.
- Working knowledge of school budgeting procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight to make presentations to school boards throughout Texas.
