Assistant Toddler Teacher, Guaranteed Paid Time Off

Boston, MA / Little Sprouts – Boston University Medical Campus / Full-Time / On-site

Little Sprouts is currently seeking an Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our team in Boston at our BUMC School
. Little Sprouts is a network of 39 preschools and early learning centers across New England. We prioritize employee experience and are closed the week between Christmas and New Year
. This offers you a guaranteed week of paid time off upon hire. Our school director at BUMC carries more than 15 years of leadership experience and is a trusted and dedicated mentor. TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE
  • Eight-hour shift (openers typically arrive at 7:30 am; closers typically stay until 5:30 pm - COVID precautions and policies may impact these hours).
  • Following and maintaining all state-mandated COVID precautions and policies for early learning centers.
  • Designated one-hour break per shift.
  • Following a schedule that helps children establish healthy eating, sleeping, and bathroom routines.
  • Working in close contact with your co-teacher and school colleagues.
  • Implementing and evolving our educational approach, which is rooted in social-emotional learning, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) curriculum, and nature-based learning. Four educational pillars, People First, Pedagogy for Tomorrow, Planet at the Core, and Positive Growth, hold up all our programs and lessons.
CERTIFICATIONS
  • Completion of Child Growth & Development Course (Certification Earned).
  • At least 11 weeks of in-classroom practicum & experience (Certification Earned).
  • Demonstrate kindness and respect for self, others, and our community-at-large.
  • Skilled in play-based learning approaches and social-emotional education.
  • Deliver required paperwork and completed lesson plans on time.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Adhere to all MA Public Health and Child Care Regulations.
  • Authorize state-required background checks and CORI.
  • Act as mandated reporter, both on and off campus.
  • Help ensure classroom environments adhere to NAEYC’s Anti-Bias Early Education.
  • Ability to stand, move, run, and play for most of the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds multiple times a day.

Salary: $16.70 - $24.20 an hour
