Lead Teacher ELA‑SRole Overview
An ELA‑S certification allows a teacher to instruct in Spanish‑language immersion programs. It indicates the teacher has met requirements to teach in a program with a significant Spanish component. ELA‑S teachers are fluent in Spanish and English, and are especially trained to teach all subjects in both languages. The certification is obtained by passing a Spanish Language Proficiency Test and completing required training, which is a CDE‑approved program.
