Academic Coach

Tierney Education LLC is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Academic Coaches for the Spring 2026 semester. Our Academic Coaches play a vital role in helping students strengthen their academic skills, build executive functioning strategies, and develop long-term habits for success.

Responsibilities include:

Meeting one-on-one with students for 45-minute weekly coaching sessions.

Supporting students with organization, time management, study skills, and accountability.

Sending monthly email updates to parents about student progress.

Documenting each session and submitting reflections within 24 hours using the provided form.

Communicating regularly with the Tierney Education team regarding student growth and challenges.

Necessary

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 hours of availability per week.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.

Ability to complete tasks and submit documentation in a timely manner.

Consistent and professional communication with Tierney Education administration via text and/or email.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in tutoring, coaching, or mentoring.

Knowledge of research-based study strategies and learning science.

Familiarity with Penn State courses and student culture.

Ability to conduct sessions virtually when needed.

Pay:

Professional Coaches (graduate degree holders or equivalent experience): $80 per hour

Training:

Coaches will receive upfront training and ongoing support from the Director of Academic Coaching, Kimberly Tierney.

Coaches will be provided with a comprehensive coaching handbook and resources.
