Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Communications Specialist for one of our offices in Oakland, CA
. This role is open to remote work.

This role provides strategic planning and implementation support to strengthen internal and external communications and outreach activities. Responsibilities include daily support for communication efforts related to the California High-Speed Rail program; assisting with the preparation, formatting, and coordination of publications; developing visual and written content; and collaborating across teams to gather information and ensure consistent messaging. The role also includes researching and recommending improvements to outreach strategies, supporting social media content creation, and translating complex information into clear, public-friendly materials.

Additional tasks and projects may be assigned in support of communication goals.

• Daily support for communication and external affairs activities related to the California High-Speed Rail program
• Assisting in preparing and organizing publications, collaborating across different programs to gather information and data, formatting content, and developing of visual assets
• Researching and providing recommendations to enhance outreach and communication strategies
• Supporting the social media team with content development
• Translating complex material into public friendly material
• Other projects and tasks as assigned
