Details

Description: The position is for the 2025‑2026 school year. Our state‑certified virtual teachers manage online instructional programs for students around the country and across the globe. Teachers communicate regularly with students to ensure successful completion of their instructional program. This is a work‑from‑home position. Compensation will be based on the specific course workload and number of enrolled students.

Adjunct teachers are not provided with computer equipment but must have a reliable internet connection and comply with connectivity requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the instructional program with synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions using Adobe® Connect™.
  • Complete grading and provide prompt, high‑quality, personalized feedback on assignments.
  • Communicate with students and other teachers regularly to update pacing plans and schedules as required.
  • Use data to monitor assignment completion and facilitate interactions that encourage consistent course engagement.
  • Review curriculum and determine course modifications to promote student achievement for those requiring accommodations through IEPs or 504 plans.
  • Consult with team members and administrators to develop alternate enrichment activities and lesson modifications to increase understanding and promote success for struggling or at‑risk students through differentiation.
  • Develop a general knowledge of the curriculum and detailed knowledge of the courses you are responsible for.
  • Communicate regularly with students via phone, chat and Web Mail system.
  • Adhere to all policies regarding protecting students’ well‑being and personal information, including FERPA and Copyright & Fair Use laws.
  • Keep student performance and information up‑to‑date by grading assessments in a timely manner and logging all student and parent contacts.
  • Utilize a variety of communication tools to effectively build relationships and promote student success.
  • Foster community with a welcoming, warm online voice that is supportive toward students and families.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Equipment & Logistics
  • Computer (mouse, keyboard, webcam, microphone/speakers and/or headset), reliable high‑speed internet, and phone.
  • Must adhere to our Connectivity Requirements.
Requirements
  • State‑certified to teach Social Studies with a valid certificate in AR, IN, TN, TX or WA.
  • AP teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain certification in additional states as requested.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and grade assessments within required time frames.
  • Attend check‑in meetings with supervisor twice per month (or as scheduled).
  • Adjunct teachers may work up to 20 hours per week, including at least 3 hours of office hours.
  • Adhere to expectations for Adjunct Teachers as directed.
  • Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed.
  • Must use a personal electronic device and email address for two‑step authentication.
Capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment requiring significant flexibility, prioritization, self‑direction, and creativity.
  • Understanding of IEP/504 plans in a virtual setting.
  • Strong technology skills (proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Apps preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
  • Customer‑focused approach and commitment to student achievement.
  • Compliance with Connectivity Requirements.
Salary and Benefits

Note:

The anticipated starting salary for Colorado‑based individuals expressing interest in this position begins at $900 per year. Adjunct teaching positions will not be eligible for benefits.
