Consultant in ENT Consultant
Position
An opportunity has arisen for a full time ENT Consultant with an interest in Otology to join a very enthusiastic ENT team at the Wirral University Teaching Hospital, Merseyside.
Responsibilities- Work closely with ENT colleagues to provide a fully comprehensive ENT service to the patients of the Wirral.
- Perform duties of a General ENT surgeon.
- Compliment other colleagues.
- Weekday on‑call commitment is 1:4 during weekdays covering only Arrowe Park Hospital.
- Weekend on‑call is currently 1 in 10, provided in clinical collaboration covering 3 hospitals – Arrowe Park Hospital, Countess of Chester Hospital and Warrington Hospital.
- All three hospitals have middlegrade ENT cover provided by Registrars or SAS Doctors. All consultants meet regularly to discuss Clinical Governance issues.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing a DBS application is met by the successful applicant(s). DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following starting in post.
If the post you are applying for requires a DBS, the cost of submitting and processing the DBS for successful applications will be met by the individual themselves. The amount will vary depending on the level required:
Standard Disclosure £21.50 + £6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50 + £6.50 (additional sum is an administration fee and may increase due to inflation). This will be deducted from your salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.

Apprenticeship EligibilityApplicants are responsible for assessing their own eligibility for apprenticeship opportunities. Eligibility is determined by specific residency requirements set by government funding rules and is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis. Our organisation cannot guarantee eligibility for all applicants.
