Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Highlights:

  • Full-time Electrophysiologist
  • 6 total Cath Labs (2 dedicated EP labs)
  • EnSite X EP System X & Carto 3 V7 and Carto Prime (both Mapping systems available onsite)
  • List procedures ALL EP Procedures capable, LAAO Center of excellence (Watchman/amulet) PFA contract approved and started PFA program for afib ablations with both Boston/Abbott.
  • Call

    Schedule:

    1:7 cardiology call with ONLY 1 major holiday per year

Job Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified
  • Medical license to practice in the state of Texas
  • Visa Accepted J1, H1B, or O1
Where You'll Work

The Heart Institute of East Texas (HIET) is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Electrophysiologists to join their practice of 13 physicians (7 Interventional, 4 Invasive/General, 1 EP) plus our CV Surgeon. HIET is affiliated with St. Luke's Health-Memorial and led the hospital to receive the highest recognition from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) as the Heartcare Center of Excellence every year since 2018, and it offers opportunities to be on Baylor College of Medicine Faculty.

HIET serves 12 counties with a population of 350,000 in Deep East Texas with 10 clinic locations and privileges at 4 hospitals.

HIET continues to grow with multiple ACC accreditations and has a focus on advanced cardiac care, research involvement, and collaboration with leading institutions.

Awards & Recognition
  • ACC Partners in Care with St. Luke's Health Memorial Lufkin for heart failure accreditation (outpatient services). HIET is one of the few clinics with this designation.
  • Recognitions including Texas Governor’s Small Business awards and TMF Physician Practice Quality Improvement Gold Award.
  • HIET participates in national cardiovascular data registries and research collaborations.
Entrepreneurial Initiatives
  • HIET leads in advanced cardiac care, participates in clinical trials, and collaborates with Harvard Medical School, Duke University and Eli Lilly.
  • NCDR registry data contributions recognized and used to improve cardiovascular care across practice locations.
