Design StackDesign Tools:
Figma (Required)
Collaboration:
Notion (Required), Slack (Required)
- Define and implement a cohesive design system that effectively communicates our brand identity and ensures consistency across all our products.
- Develop new design components that fit seamlessly within our existing system and can be used across different products.
- Present multiple design ideas for new product experiences, clearly explaining your design decisions and how they align with our overall product and business goals.
- Collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams to ensure our designs are feasible and implementable, while always keeping the user experience top‑of‑mind.
- Use data, user feedback, and UX research to inform your design decisions and continuously iterate on our designs.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices, ensuring we’re always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in UI design.
- You care about shipping end‑to‑end products loved by users. A new feature that’s not used by anyone is wasted time. You’ll have a direct impact on user journeys. We optimize for every role to handle a full user story and to even communicate with customers. You genuinely care and take pride with a product you worked on being used by many people.
That means you have to wear multiple hats — such as: pushing product managers to share analytics before maturing an MVP further, or pushing back on features that don’t make sense to you. - When a customer reports a bug, you’ll be put in touch directly with the customer to communicate issues and own the user’s pain‑points & solution.
- You want every opportunity to do 10x more. We believe in hiring people who are seeking the highest responsibility they can handle. Whether it’s to make your first $M or for fame, or for the love of building products or building businesses — you are here because the status quo is less agency and too boring. You’re here because you want to push yourself to new levels, and we’ll give you numerous opportunities to do that.
- You have an owner mindset vs passive work. High ownership → High productivity + better collaboration + Pro‑active action. Low ownership → Low productivity + passive collaboration + defensibility causing drama + need followups to deliver.
- You’ll ship designs every week. Like our engineers, the design team is integral to the product development process. Your designs will come to life, affecting the lives of our members positively.
- You’ll be an owner. We entrust our team with a great deal of responsibility. This might mean spearheading a new design initiative or iterating on current designs to improve the user experience. We believe in empowering you to reach your full potential.
- You’ll create a better future for the world. As a designer at Village, you will be building something unique — creating an online experience that fosters trust, connection, and community.
- You are experienced. You have a strong background in UI design, having worked on and led the creation of design systems and digital product experiences. You are proficient in the modern design tools of the trade (like Figma).
- You are detail‑oriented. You obsess over the details and believe that excellence is found in the minutiae. You strive for simplicity and clarity in your designs, knowing that these aspects drive a compelling user experience.
- You bias towards action. You are a doer, not just a dreamer. You…
