This is a full-time hybrid role for a Junior Designer, based in Truckee, CA, with opportunities for some work-from-home flexibility. The Junior Designer will assist in all aspects of the design process, including creating design concepts, preparing visual presentations, drafting floor plans in CAD, modeling early concepts in Sketchup and sourcing appliances, fixtures, fittings, surfaces, finishes, lighting, and furnishings. The role involves close collaboration with our Tahoe Senior Designer and other team members, coordination with clients, architects and contractors, attending project site meetings, and maintaining clear documentation, budgets, and project timelines.
Additionally, the Junior Designer will contribute to research and administrative tasks to support the team.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up, G Drive, and Adobe Creative Suite, Revit is a plus
- Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and color theory
- Strong organizational skills for managing project timelines, budgets, and documentation
- Skill in research, materials sourcing, and sustainable design solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients professionally
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently, when required
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience in residential interior design at a professional architecture or interior design firm
