Part-Time CAD Draftsperson (Vectorworks Preferred)

Location: Oakland, CA (Remote OK)

Hours: 5–10 hrs/week to start (ongoing)

We are a small, design-focused furniture and cabinetry studio based in Oakland, CA seeking a highly precise, experienced, and independent draftsperson to support built-in cabinetry and freestanding furniture projects.

This role is ideal for someone with an architecture background who is experienced in producing clean, accurate 2D technical drawings for client approvals.

• Translate designer sketches, renderings, and notes into 2D CAD drawings
• Produce client approval drawing sets (plans, elevations, and sections)
• Maintain organized file structure and drawing standards
• Revise drawings based on feedback

This role focuses on client approval drawings only — production/shop drawings are handled internally.

• 5+ years of CAD experience (education + work equivalent)
• Strong proficiency in Vectorworks (preferred) or other CAD platforms
• Background in architecture or interior design
• Highly detail-oriented and precise
• Able to work independently with minimal oversight
• Strong communication and responsiveness

• 3D modeling experience
• Familiarity with furniture or cabinetry
• Basic understanding of fabrication logic
• Good sense of humor

• 5–10 hours per week to start
• Ongoing work with potential to expand as projects grow
• Remote OK
• Oakland-based candidates welcome (occasional in-shop collaboration optional)
