Retail Design Manager

The Retail Design Manager will lead the creative design aspect and execution of Cavender’s retail environments. Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, this role will focus on creating and enhancing both interior and exterior spaces. C. This position works closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure consistent and compelling brand experiences across all locations.

• Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
• Serve as a partner and support resource to the Facilities Design/Construction Department and the company
• Lead design projects for both new store builds and remodels, ensuring spaces reflect the brand’s identity and provide an exceptional customer experience
• Oversee areas that enhance the visual and functional aspects of store interiors such as retrofit of departments within existing spaces. Cedar Park Hat Bar & Central Expressway Hat Bar for example
• Select interior and exterior finish colors and materials including paint, stain and flooring
• Develop and present renderings and mockups for both interior and exterior design projects to key stakeholders, ensuring concepts align with the overall brand vision
• Oversee the design and procurement of signage, including interior way finding, decor and exterior wall, monument and pylon signs, ensuring brand consistency
• Develop and implement creative solutions for brand messaging and signage located above eye level to enhance the in-store customer journey and experience
• Select and source specialty materials, such as reclaimed lumber, to use in store construction and renovation projects, balancing quality, aesthetics, and budget considerations
• Design and coordinate the installation of branded elements on interior and exterior walls and signage structures, ensuring visibility and alignment with company standards
• Provide graphic design support for digital mockups, and other creative materials, contributing to the overall store aesthetics and private label branding
• Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to develop and enhance private label branding and packaging for Rafter C & Rockin’ C product lines
• Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, external vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design or related field with minimum of 5 years experience or Associates Degree with 8+ years of experience in Retail Design, Graphic Design or related field
• Proficiency in design Adobe Creative Suite software or similar tools, with Autocad a plus
• Strong understanding of retail environments, customer experience, and brand identity
• Proven experience in signage design, procurement and the use of specialty materials
• Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills
• Ability to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks
• Ability to comprehend complex issues and communicate
• Associate must be able to read English.

• Ability to handle confidential materials and matters with maximum discretion
• Experience with private label or brand development
• A keen sense of aesthetic and functional design
• Problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and customer experience
