An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Architect with technical skills and experience in the Data Centre and Mission Critical sectors to be based in the Glasgow office and become an integral part of our expanding Architectural team at ESA Architecture.
Job Responsibilities- Under direction of the Project Lead or a more senior project leader, develop, modify, and review drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent.
- Develop and implement project design concepts, create project models, develop sketches, conduct research and data collection, prepare presentations and reports, and generally produce design and construction documents.
- Work on multiple projects, providing concepts and techniques that may explore new ways of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements.
- Interact with clients and consultants, participate in project development, and present ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Prepare, manage, and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details as directed by others in the project team, following standards and archiving documents as appropriate.
- Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards.
- May assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
- Prepare 2D and 3D presentations, design drawings and renderings.
- Compile data and perform fundamental design computations.
- Perform product research and may assist Project Designers and Project Architects with materials selection and system research.
- Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
- Be able to manage junior colleges and provide guidance and support where necessary.
- Manage design tasks and deliverables and report on progress against the design programme to the project lead, and report on progress and risks associated with the programme.
- Follow company values and exhibit appropriate behaviours.
- Manage time efficiently and assist/input into team meetings to review design programme.
- Support the Project Lead in developing the project execution plan, including financial planning, and forecasting resources.
- Provide input on the project programming and financial planning.
- Previous experience in the data centre, construction, or architectural industry.
- Must be a qualified Architect.
- Working knowledge of UK building regulations and national standards.
- Working capability and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Technical design knowledge and skills in UK construction methodology.
- Experience working as part of an architectural design team managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages.
- Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively.
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
