About FortifabFortifab Manufacturing Inc. is a sheet metal fabrication shop based in Langley, BC
. We build production-ready sheet metal parts and assemblies and need reliable CAD support when projects spike or when we’re pushing drawings/DXFs out the door.
We’re looking for an experienced Onshape sheet metal contractor we can return to once in a while
—someone who’s responsive, accurate, and understands manufacturability.
- Model sheet metal parts in Onshape (clean feature trees + design intent)
- Generate flat patterns and export DXFs for laser/CNC
- Create 2D drawings (PDF) with dimensions, notes, bend info, hardware callouts
- Support light assemblies and basic BOMs when required
- Apply revisions quickly from markups, photos, sketches, or existing CAD
- Organized Onshape document(s) (Part Studios / Assemblies)
- Flat pattern DXF(s) (proper orientation, clean geometry)
- Drawing package (PDF)
- Optional: STEP exports, assembly, BOM, hardware callouts
- Strong Onshape experience (productive immediately)
- Solid sheet metal fundamentals (manufacturability)
- Comfortable interpreting imperfect inputs (sketches/photos/marked PDFs)
- Reliable communication + hits agreed deadlines
- Works independently and asks clarifying questions early
- Solid Works experience (helpful for incoming legacy files / translations)
- Real shop/fabrication context (laser + press brake reality)
- Familiarity with revision practices and clean document organization
- Experience with PEM hardware / rivnuts / fasteners and drawing standards
This is as-needed contract work
. Some weeks/months there may be no work; other times we may have a small batch of parts/drawings to complete.
Compensation: Open — please propose your hourly rate and/or typical per-job pricing
. We’ll agree on scope + budget before each project and negotiate based on complexity and turnaround.
Please include:
- A short note on your Onshape + sheet metal experience
- A link to a portfolio (screenshots are fine)
- Your hourly rate and/or per-project pricing range
- Your timezone
, typical availability, and expected turnaround - Confirmation you can do a paid test project to start
