A specialist provider of high‑quality architectural facade and building envelope solutions is seeking an experienced Facade Designer to join its growing Design Team. The organisation delivers innovative external envelope systems across a wide range of UK construction projects, combining aesthetics, performance, compliance, and buildability.

As a Façade Designer, you will play a central role in producing detailed façade design packages across cladding, glazing, curtain walling, windows, doors, SFS, pressed and architectural metalwork.

You will collaborate with Clients, Architects, Structural Engineers, Project Managers, the Design Lead, Consultants, Manufacturing Teams, and internal departments to deliver compliant, accurate, and buildable design solutions from concept through to installation.

Although the role is primarily remote with occasional travel to the head office, factory, or project sites across the UK, we are ideally looking for someone based within a reasonable distance of the North London / Hertfordshire area.

• Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for a variety of facade systems.
• Develop comprehensive design packages, including GA drawings, interface details, setting‑out, and fixing details.
• Prepare fabrication drawings and procurement schedules.
• Review contract documentation to ensure clarity of design scope, specifications, and deliverables.
• Create technical submittals and compliance documents for Building Regulations, warranty providers, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate design requirements.
• Attend technical/design meetings, record minutes, and manage design actions.
• Provide technical support for installation phases, including RFIs, as‑built drawings, and site‑related queries.
• Maintain accurate document control, including revisions, approvals, submittal logs, and commentary tracking.

• Degree or UK recognised qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Facade Engineering, or related field.
• Proven facade design experience on UK projects (cladding, glazing, rainscreen, curtain walling, etc.).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and facade performance standards.
• Solid understanding of design techniques, material specifications, and construction methods.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of thermal, acoustic, and fire performance in facade systems.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling tools such as Revit, Inventor, or Solid Works.
• BIM experience.
• Salary from £40,000+ PA (dependent on experience).
• Remote working with IT equipment and software provided.
