RoleWe are growing and looking for an Architecture/Design Project Manager to partner closely with our Senior Designers and help guide projects through the design process and construction with organization, clarity, and proactive communication. This role is ideal for someone who loves both design and construction and thrives at the intersection of the two. The Project Manager works closely with the Senior Designer to contribute to the design process and serves as the day-to-day point of contact for contractors, vendors, and project logistics.
In this role, you help ensure our projects run smoothly, stay organized, and progress according to schedule. You will be involved from the outset, helping shape the project scope, schedule, and budget while contributing to the design process. You’ll help with sourcing, specifications, and building FF&E. Once construction begins, you are responsible for supporting the execution of the design in the field, keeping clients informed, answering contractor questions, conducting site meetings with clients and contractors, solving problems in real time, and bringing in other team members when needed to keep the project moving forward.
You will be deeply involved in the execution phase of our renovation projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and the Brownstone Boys team.
- Contribute to the design process throughout the project
- Communicate regularly with clients and troubleshoot project questions
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for general contractors during construction
- Attend weekly project meetings with clients and contractors
- Serve as the liaison between the site and the studio
- Coordinate the team and pull in the Senior Designer or principals as needed for major decisions
- Have a firm grasp of industry standards, building techniques, and the construction process
- Assist in taking conceptual ideas and developing them through design into technical solutions
- Send detailed notes and documentation after each site meeting
- Proven execution of construction administration including review of shop drawings and submittals
- Review elevations, drawings, schedules, and specifications to ensure design intent is complete before bidding and construction
- Flag missing information and coordinate with the Senior Designer to resolve gaps quickly
- Prepare and submit bid packages to contractors (plans, drawings, specifications)
- Support contractor selection alongside the client and Lead Designer; schedule project kickoff meetings and establish project meeting cadence
- Procure fixtures and finishes as specified by the Senior Designer
- Track and manage orders and delivery timelines
- Coordinate and schedule onsite deliveries
- Manage onsite inventory of items purchased
- Produce sketches or drawings for revisions when needed
- Coordinate closely with the Senior Designer to ensure the project stays aligned with the design vision and schedule
- Assist in specifying fixtures and finishes
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- 3+ years experience in architecture, interior design, or construction management
- Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Interior Design a plus
- Proficient in CAD, Sketch Up, and like software
- Proficient in Adobe Suite and Google Workspace
- Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once
- Strong communicator who can work with clients, contractors, and designers
- Excited about residential renovation and historic homes
- Calm under pressure and solution-oriented
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in the culture of the studio

Position TypeFull-Time, partial onsite and work from home (at least 3 days in office in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn).
Benefits And Pay- Starting Salary: $75,000-$85,000/yr
