The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled UX Designer to join our innovative team working on cutting‑edge vehicle interaction systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of automotive digital interfaces by designing intuitive, user‑centered in‑vehicle systems. The successful candidate will collaborate within a dynamic, hybrid working environment, contributing to projects that push the boundaries of user experience in embedded systems.

This position is ideal for professionals passionate about creating impactful digital experiences and eager to work on pioneering automotive technology. The role is based in Gaydon, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement requiring approximately three days in the office per week, with quarterly in‑office planning events.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in designing user interfaces through a human‑centered design process, preferably within embedded systems or automotive environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating comprehensive UX design skills, including research, prototyping, testing, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, auto layout, components, and library management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Knowledge of usability, accessibility, and user experience principles, ensuring designs meet industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience working within agile teams, participating in ceremonies such as sprint planning and design reviews.
  • Degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop user interfaces for in‑vehicle systems, ensuring they are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with usability standards.
  • Translate complex technical and user requirements into clear, testable interaction concepts using Figma and prototyping tools.
  • Collaborate with the Design System team to maintain consistency across all digital touchpoints and components.
  • Partner with research and behavioral science teams to validate and refine interface concepts through real‑world testing and user feedback.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the component library by proposing new elements and features to enhance user experience.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and design reviews, as part of a cross‑functional team.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative design practices into projects.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility and usability standards, fostering inclusive user experiences.
