Architectural CAD Technician (Contract 3 6 Months)

Our Architectural practice client are currently seeking an experienced Architectural CAD Technician to join their team on a 3 6 month contract basis, which will be outside of IR35.

This role will support ongoing building projects and requires strong technical drawing ability, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of building construction.

This position is based in either York or Pontefract, with the option to work from home up to two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD
• Drawing and checking line work to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
• Inputting and interpreting survey information into CAD drawings
• Preparing architectural plans, elevations, sections, and details
• Amending drawings in line with project and client requirements
• Coordinating drawing information with internal teams and consultants
• Ensuring drawings comply with current building regulations and industry standards
• Supporting the wider technical team with general CAD duties

Requirements

• Strong, proven AutoCAD experience (essential)
• Solid understanding of buildings, construction methods, and detailing
• Experience working on UK-based building projects
• Ability to accurately interpret and input survey data
• Excellent attention to detail and line accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Strong communication skills

Desirable

• Experience working within architectural or building consultancy environments
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations
• Experience producing technical construction details
