Overview
The Product Designer – Specialized 2 will support the research, design, and development of performance-based apparel products from concept through retail. This role will focus on seasonal basketball uniforms and travel systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to bring innovative ideas to life. The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, confidential environment. This is an on-site role at Nike World Headquarters (WHQ) with work-from-home Fridays.
This is a seasonal engagement with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance; extension is not guaranteed.
- Research, design, and develop performance-based apparel products from ideation through retail delivery.
- Support ideation and visioning for new product concepts that drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with product creation, engineering, and manufacturing teams on the development of advanced product concepts.
- Conduct research and apply insights related to consumer needs, materials, performance, and construction processes.
- Engineer prototypes and participate in proof-of-concept development.
- Identify key product construction elements, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Participate in innovation projects, supporting the transformation of concept ideation into finished products.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Assist with preparation of reports and presentations of new ideas and results.
- Maintain confidentiality across sensitive product development initiatives.
- Support seasonal workload focused on basketball uniforms and travel systems.
- Participate in potential domestic travel as needed.
- 2–4 years of experience in a product design role
- Adobe Illustrator (expert level)
- Keynote
- Photoshop
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Strong listening skills and ability to take direction
- Proactive mindset with adaptability and flexibility
- CLO 3D experience
- Prior Nike experience
- Strong understanding of material creation and apparel construction
