Overview
West Workshop is a small architecture and design studio specializing in hospitality, custom residential, and adaptive reuse projects with offices in Washington, DC, Raleigh, and Ft. Wayne, IN. This position is for a local or remote employee. Ideally you are based in NC. You must be based in the U.S.
Architectural Designer — Raleigh, NC (remote possible)
West Workshop is seeking a Project Designer with 5-7 years of professional experience for a full-time role. The position offers opportunities to collaborate directly with the firm’s owner and with clients on a variety of project types and is suited to those who can work independently on multiple projects.

: $78,000 - $90,000 annually
- Collaborate directly with the firm’s owner and with clients on a variety of project types.
- Work independently on multiple projects and manage tasks across design and documentation.
- Be comfortable managing a project, visiting job sites during construction, and responding to RFIs.
- Research materials, products, and building systems throughout the design and construction phases.
- Prepare and coordinate construction documents using Revit from concept through completion (best examples requested).
- Coordinate with collaborators, clients, building officials, and consultants on a weekly basis.
- Utilize software tools and continuously expand skillsets with industry-standard programs.
- Proven experience in commercial construction; residential experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or higher; working toward licensure.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience putting together a set of construction documents in Revit from concept through completion; please send best examples.
- Ability to manage a project and communicate effectively with team and clients.
- Basic construction knowledge; we’ll teach you the rest.
- Working knowledge of Sketch Up;
Rhino is a plus. - Familiarity with Bluebeam, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; willingness to expand these skills.
- Ability to research materials, products, and building systems throughout the design and construction phases.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage tasks.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
