Architectural Designer

Overview

West Workshop is a small architecture and design studio specializing in hospitality, custom residential and adaptive reuse projects with offices in Washington, DC, Raleigh, and Ft. Wayne, IN. This position is for a local or remote employee. Ideally you are based in NC. You must be based in the U.S.

We have a need to fill a full-time position for a Project Designer with 5-8 years of professional experience. The position offers opportunities to collaborate directly with the firm’s owner and with clients on a variety of project types and is suited to those who are able to work independently on multiple projects.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial Construction. Residential experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or higher
• Fluent in English
• Experience putting together a set of construction documents, in Revit, from concept through completion
• Basic construction knowledge
• Working knowledge of Sketch Up;
  Rhino is a plus
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; willingness to expand skills with those programs
• Ability to research materials, products, and building systems throughout the design and construction phases
• Ability to independently prioritize and manage tasks
• Strong communication and coordination skills; ability to talk with collaborators, clients and consultants weekly
• Authorization to work in the United States
