BTDW specialises in custom timber products such as bespoke entry doors, sliding doors, bifolds, French doors, casement windows, increasingly popular arched doors and windows and heritage reproductions using various timber species and offering tailored solutions. - Prepare quotes & estimates
- Perform accurate take‑offs
- Structure pricing in Excel
- Issue quote packages
- Track tenders & follow‑ups
- Clarify technical questions (RFIs)
Progression over time into:
- Shop drawings (AutoCAD / Revit / Archi
CAD) - Glazing/hardware schedules
- Technical builder/architect coordination
- Production documentation
- Read & interpret architectural drawings (plans, elevations, schedules)
- Perform window/door quantity take‑offs & BOQs
- Prepare accurate cost estimates & structured Excel pricing sheets
- Issue quotes & tender packages to builders
- Conduct follow‑ups & maintain tender pipeline discipline
- Identify missing information & raise RFIs/clarifications
- Update tracking systems for quotations, outcomes & time frames
- Learn BTDW joinery systems, glazing & hardware
- Learn Australian building & joinery terminology (training provided)
- Strong Excel (formulas, structured tables, logic)
- Drawing literacy (2D/3D interpretation)
- Basic construction understanding (openings, tolerances, levels)
- Clear written communication (builder/architect context)
- Commercial awareness (pricing, margins, timelines)
Highly advantageous (not required day one):
- AutoCAD / Revit / Archi
CAD / Drafting - Bluebeam / Plan Swift / PDF markup tools
- Bills of Quantities / Tendering
- Timber, glazing & hardware terminology
- Understanding of jambs, sills, thresholds, mullions, head heights
- Australian building joinery terms (jambs, sills, glazing, seals, hardware etc.)
All joinery‑specific knowledge can be taught on the job

- Detail‑oriented & analytical
- Comfortable with pricing logic & spreadsheets
- Confident reading drawings & resolving technical ambiguity
- Curious about fabrication, joinery & architecture
- Strong written English
- Self‑managed & reliable in remote environment
- Enjoys commercial follow‑through & structured communication
- Remote independent contractor (South Africa)
- Full‑time preferred (part‑time considered)
- Must overlap with Brisbane time zone (min. 3–4 hrs/day)
- Competitive in ZAR, aligned to experience
- Indicative range: R520,000 – R600,000+/yr (All levels considered – higher for drafting/shop drawing capability)
