Front-end Designer / Developer – Word Press. Full UK Remote

Salary £35,000-£40,000 DOE. Full-time, Monday-Thursday 8:30‑5:30; early finish Fridays. Remote (couple of team meetings per year). Benefits: annual Portugal retreat, all expenses paid. Work sustainability and balanced culture.

We are Voodoo chilli and Heritage Creative, two closely connected design‑led agencies. We need a Front‑end Designer/Developer who can turn client briefs into clear, thoughtful Figma designs and build them in Word Press with custom themes. The role leans towards design, but strong front‑end build skills are essential.

• Transform client briefs into polished Figma designs.
• Make smart UX & design decisions around layout, hierarchy, content flow.
• Design reusable UI components and build simple, scalable design systems.
• Build designs in Word Press using custom themes.
• Work confidently with ACF, Gutenberg blocks, structured content.
• Craft responsive layouts and subtle interactions.
• Collaborate closely with the wider team and communicate progress.
• Partner with backend developers to realise the design vision.

• Strong Figma skills & confidence in layouts, components, user flows.
• Solid grasp of UX fundamentals & clean interface design.
• Proven experience building custom Word Press themes.
• Strong knowledge of ACF, Gutenberg, and Word Press best practices.
• Excellent HTML, CSS, and PHP for Word Press theming.
• Ability to work independently and see tasks through to finish.

• Agency experience.
• Comfortable presenting work to clients.
• Experience designing for varied sectors and audiences.
