Who You Are:

You are a graphic designer with an eye for detail and precision, comfortable finalizing print projects, and able to manage shifting deadlines. You can juggle multiple projects, and you can quickly assess and re-prioritize as needed in a dynamic environment. You strive for excellence in your work and enjoy a collaborative and remote work environment.

The Task at Hand:

The Packaging Production Designer helps to finalize graphic design files primarily for print and packaging projects, but also for digital assets as needed. This role works with the Graphic Designers to make files print-ready, but also with various other departments to cross-reference copy and details on packaging and ensure compliance with legal and marketing standards.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Produce and finalize print-ready packaging artwork (flexible packaging, cartons, boxes, films, pouches, etc.) from concept to press-ready files.
  • Translate designs into dieline-accurate layouts; apply correct bleeds, trim, folds, and Pantone/CMYK conversions.
  • Manage multiple SKU templates and update artwork for seasonal changes, copy edits, barcodes, nutrition facts, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Preflight files and run PDF proofs; check/verify image resolution, color profiles, trap/overprint settings, knockouts, and font embedding/outline.
  • Create and maintain packaging templates and asset libraries.
  • Work with the larger graphic design and cross-functional packaging team to optimize processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with printers to resolve production issues, recommend design adjustments for manufacturability, and approve press proofs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to brand guidelines, packaging specifications, and regulatory labeling standards (FDA, etc.).
  • Work within project management systems to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate status to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and propose process improvements to streamline packaging workflow.
In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:
  • 2+ years of production packaging design experience, preferably in CPG or food brands.
  • Outstanding portfolio exhibiting graphic design across print and digital projects with a focus on packaging work.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Figma.
  • Strong working knowledge of dielines, prepress, color management, trapping, and print production processes.
  • Familiarity with barcodes, UPC management, nutrition panel layout, and regulatory labeling.
  • Excellent attention to detail and file organization; strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and respond to printer feedback quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Compensation:
  • Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt.
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $67,000.00 to $77,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses, stipends, equity, and role-specific perks.
