Senior Product Designer – Phone

What you can expect

As the Lead Designer, you will shape the future of business phone communications with AI. In this role, you will independently own significant product areas, leading the end-to-end design process while mentoring other designers both in the US and China. You will also leverage your deep understanding of UX best practices and technical constraints to create innovative solutions that scale.

The team focuses on developing a flexible, mobile, and powerful cloud phone system that can handle complex workflows in calling, messaging, and voicemail. As part of the team, you’ll join a group of passionate, collaborative, and impact-driven designers who obsess over every pixel and interaction. We work closely with product, engineering, research, and accessibility teams to shape the core experience. If you’re excited about designing communication and AI at scale – this might be it.

• Lead high-impact, mission-critical projects that define the future of Zoom Phone. Own the design strategy and execution end-to-end with emphasis on refined, production-ready visuals.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align on product direction, deliver impactful work, and champion design excellence across surfaces.
• Drive high-quality design while collaborating closely with design leadership to bring clarity and consistency across projects, ensuring design decisions align with the broader vision.
• Set and uphold a high bar for visual and interaction design quality, with a love for polished UI and instincts for layout, spacing, motion, and micro-interactions.
• Leverage both qualitative and quantitative data to guide design decisions, evaluate success, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Own design execution in Figma and deliver pixel-perfect visuals, robust prototypes, and clear specifications for engineering partners.

• Bring 8 years of product design experience with a portfolio showcasing exceptional user-centered interaction design.
• Manage complex projects involving cross-functional and cross-team stakeholder groups, spanning different timezones.
• Understand and handle visual design with a passion for polish and an expert eye for detail.
• Be comfortable in Prompting, Vibe Coding, Cursor, Figma Make, Make, and other relevant tools for both design and prototyping.
• Be a systems thinker with the ability to contribute back to our design systems library.
• Bring excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate positions to influence and work with partners, employing new design thinking.
• Have an understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking practices.
• Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
